After more than 40 days of the tragedy of August 4th, the wound is still gaping, the pain is deep, the anger is immense and our hearts are shattered. In remembrance of that day, citizens have joined forces to honor the victims of the Beirut blast.
Through words, images and music, #RecollectBeirut #بيروت_تِنذَكَر will convey a message of courage, love and hope, near the Port of Beirut on Saturday September 19 at 6:30pm.
250 singers from across Lebanon representing the Antonine University choir, the NDU choir, the Al Fayha’a choir and the Al Mabarrat choir will unite their voices, accompanied by a chamber orchestra of 30 musicians under the direction of Father Toufic Maatouk and Father Khalil Rahmé. With the presence of Fadia Tomb el Hage, Rifaat Torbey and Omar Rahbani, the participation of Tania Saleh and Zade Dirani, and the testimonies of Gabriel Yared, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Wajdi Mouawad and Amin Maalouf.
The artistic direction is in the hands of Jean-Louis Mainguy. Bassem Christo is the TV director.
#Recollect Beirut #بيروت_تِنذَكَر will be filmed live by LBCI, broadcast live on local TV stations (LBCI/MTV/Al Jadeed/Future TV /OTV/Télé Liban), on Arab and International outlets (MBC4/ Shahid VIP/Associated Press/Agence France Presse/Reuters), and live streamed on social media, and on Youtube at this link:
